But what exactly does customs clearance mean? 

Customs clearance means declaring the incoming and outgoing goods to customs, after which the import-export duties are paid. Therefore, all types of cargo that have a value above US $ 50.00 and are for commercial use, must be cleared. In addition to the declaration form, other paperwork such as permits and origin certificates might be required for the customs clearance The faster this procedure, the faster you can be in possession of your products. Your cargo can depart from the (air)port when all payments have been met.

 

Import

In order to take care of the customs clearance for your imported products, we need the following information:

• An inventory list of the goods

• An original invoice

• A value statement

• Import / Export number

• Tax fixed number

• Chamber of commerce number (Kamer van Koophandel en Fabrieken)

• An authorization letter on your letterhead with a stamp for customs clearance

 

Export 

For the export of your products, a declaration must also be made to customs through a Single Document and an International Trade form.

For company export products, we need the following documents:

• An inventory list of the goods

• An original invoice

• A value statement

• Import / Export number

• Tax fixed number

• Chamber of commerce number 

 

It is possible to request an import or export number for you, if you will be importing or exporting products/ cargo for the first time and your company does not have an import and export number yet. For the request we need the following documents;

1. Extract from chamber of commerce

2. Your tax statement.

 

**Some cargo shipments require export licenses, for example wood, fish, vegetables, etc.
